ARE YOU AN ESCAPE ARTIST?
Wednesday, October 27, 2010
Sometimes the words just flow through you and you realize you’re giving yourself your own best advice. That’s what happened to me Monday morning. I had cued up one of my favorite artists, avant-cellist Zoë Keating, when her song ”Escape Artist” started to play. From the very first few bars, my pencil began moving across the page. I’m pretty sure I did some healing during that writing session - it sure felt like I had put some long-term and chronic fears behind me - just by getting them out in the open: fears of being judged, the paralysis of perfectionism - all those nasty voices that stop the flow of creativity from taking its natural path.
So here’s how it came down - with profound gratitude to the exquisite talent and magic of Zoë Keating. “Escape Artist” was released in June 2010 on her album “Into The Trees.”
THE HEAD AND THE HEART
Thursday, October 21, 2010
As you all know, I am all about trying to get out of my own head so I can get the clear line from my heart. Right on cue, music blog goddess Heather Browne of I Am Fuel, You Are Friends shows up with this new song by Seattle’s The Head and The Heart, live @ The Upper Room. Take a look.
Right around 2:00 the magic begins to happen.
The band is also on Twitter if you want to follow or drop a note directly.
